Masks

Using the right mask is your key to optimal therapy. You need a mask that is comfortable and fits you properly, forming a good, firm seal on your face. There are three categories of masks available:

AirFit™ P10

Nasal pillows masks

A nasal pillows mask is a lightweight and compact mask with tubular silicone inserts that go slightly inside your nostrils to deliver air. Nasal pillows masks are a great option for:

  • Reading or watching TV in bed
  • Reducing facial markings

Mask featured is the AirFit P10 - designed to be as comfortable and unobtrusive as possible. QuietAir™ woven-mesh venting gently directs expelled air, so it's barely noticeable to you and your bed partner. And it's minimalist three-piece design makes assembly and cleaning a breeze.

AirFit™ N30

Nasal masks

Most nasal masks consist of a cushion that covers the entire nose between the nasal bridge and the upper lip, or a cushion that cradles the nose. Nasal masks are a great option if you:

  • Breathe through your nose
  • Prefer less coverage on your nose

Mask featured is the AirFit N30 - ResMed's lightest mask yet.* It features a soft, curved nasal cradle cushion and adjustable QuickFit™ elastic slip-on headgear. It's been designed to discreetly fit into your lifestyle to help you stay on therapy.

*As of October 2019.

AirFit™ F30

Full face masks

Full face masks typically consist of a cushion that covers both your mouth and nose, or a cushion that sits gently under the nose sealing over both airways. If you breathe with your mouth open or experience nasal congestion, you may need a full face mask. They are also more suitable if you are prescribed higher pressures as they are more tolerable than other types of masks.

Mask featured is the AirFit F30 - unlike traditional full face masks, the AirFit F30 mask cushion rests comfortably under the nose and not over it. Also featuring QuietAir™ diffused venting, exhaled air is spread out lightly to minimise noise and disturbance.

Devices

AirSense™ 10 AutoSet™ for Her

There are three types of therapy devices that deliver air in different ways: CPAP, APAP and Bilevel.

The AirSense 10 and AirCurve 10 are the latest device ranges from ResMed. AirSense 10 AutoSet for Her is the first tailored therapy device for women with sleep apnea. To find out more go to resmed.com

CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure)

CPAP devices deliver air at a constant (fixed) pressure. Each person has their own pressure requirements, so they are set for you personally after your sleep study.

APAP (Automatic Positive Airway Pressure)

APAP devices, such as ResMed’s AutoSet devices, are suitable for those whose pressure needs vary throughout the night. These devices automatically adjust the air pressure throughout the night to suit your breathing needs.

Bilevel

Bilevel devices deliver two fixed pressures: a higher level for when you breathe in and a lower level for when you breathe out. Bilevels are ideal for those who need very high pressures for their treatment or who find it difficult to breathe out against one fixed pressure.

Humidification

AirSense™ 10 AutoSet™ with HumidAir™ Heated Humidifier

Using a humidifier can make a positive difference to your therapy comfort and experience. It helps you avoid a dry nose or throat, and because it warms the air you’re breathing and moistens your airway, it can also help you keep your mouth closed while you sleep. If you don’t have a humidifier, speak to your healthcare professional or equipment provider.
