When you wake up to the side effects of snoring, you’ll quickly realise it’s far more than just annoying. It can also be a tell-tale sign of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), which greatly disturbs the sleep cycle. OSA occurs when the upper airway temporarily collapses during sleep, causing short lapses in breathing (apneas), triggering the brain to wake the body, time and time again. Incredibly, approximately 20% of adults suffer from this common condition, many unknowingly.
Studies suggest that OSA has been linked to an increase in heart and cardiovascular disease, stroke, hypertension, diabetes and obesity. In short, it can be a real nightmare.
